Many at times when we play scrabble you notice that the level at which you reason at split of of seconds is second to nothing but focus. At this point you become pretty fast in your thinking. While you often do so playing scrabble, you basically build up the mind to think fast in your life technically.  No wonder people will say scrabble game is for thinkers. It’s barely two weeks to the MSPL Finale 2022 and so many questions beg for answers. Can Sterling Bombers escape relegation? Will Airpop Alpha cruise to the finish line in style  or stumble?  Will the state government backed Maestros finish on the podium?  Can Aries OR Anagrammers overtake Southern Crown to clinch division B title? Scrabble has taken new dimension in the South South of Nigeria. Many world class players like Jighere(World Champ 2015), Dennis, Umujose, Ben Quickpen, Nsikak, Karo, and more have taken different bouts amongst themselves.  This time it was the lion 🦁 Ben Quickpen(current world NO:10) Vs the tiger 🐯 a National gold medalist Igali Precious.  The bout was a best of 15 games.  Ben Quickpen  At the end of the 14th round, Ben won by 8 to 6.  We are hoping there be a rematch as the viewers were intrigued by their performance.

The word war II between Olatunde Oduwole 1644 and Wellington Jighere 1607 was held at the Capo Arena in Lagos, 5th September 2021. It was really intriguing as they fed us with loads of top notch scrabble words.   wellington Jighere introduces scrabbleverse to Nigerian. The scrabbleverse is all about creating avenue for a competitive scrabble and how futuristic it is in the game of scrabble. 

 Chris Lipe wrote on Facebook: "An announcement from WESPA on the updated word list: The new edition of Collins Scrabble Words (CSW21) will be effective for tournament play starting January 1, 2022. Any WESPA-organized events, in person or online, after that date will use the updated list. A CSW21 Initiation Kit is being prepared for distribution soon to assist players in the transition. All application developers who have licensed the Collins Scrabble Words list for use in their apps, websites, and tools have been contacted with the new list, and should complete updates before this date. Publication of a paper edition will follow at a later date.  National associations should prepare implementation of the list for local events as soon as practicable after this date."  This is part of the usuals in the scrabble community to enable players know what is coming in order for them to also prepare their mind ahead of what is coming. 

The Nigeria Scrabble Veterans jolly together in their usual way as Hon. Famous Daunemighan hosts them to celebrate with him on his birthday at Yenagoa in his residence. Famous birthday cake A scrabble competition was held tagged "Famous Birthday Tournament" that included only the Nigeria Scrabble Veterans with a standard prize band. Project Nigerian Scrabble Federation Training For TDs, Adjudicators & Coaching comes up this Friday 30th July 2021 at Abuja National Stadium. The use this medium to encourage the youths to participate in this workshop as it helps build professional tournament directors, Adjudicators, and prospective Coaches on scrabble matters.  Below is a guideline of the entire bulletin:  There shall also be a National Retreat after the workshop which will commence on the 31st. Prize money will be available for winners.
