Gov. Douye Diri National Scrabble Tournament 5th Edition

The 5th Edition of the Governor Douye Diri National Scrabble Tournament holds in August.  You can recall that the Press Secretary to the Governor and Chairman of the Bayelsa State Scrabble Association, Daniel Alabra has tirelessly worked to ensure the 5th Edition holds as promised by the state governor.    Over 250 players all over the country are usually expected to participate for over N10,000,000 prize bands with a grand prize of N1,000,000 and a giant trophy 🏆  Players like Enoch Nwali (the defending champion), George Ezinore (Current National Champ), Timi Doko (Current African Champ) are all warming up for the event

Ekowe Scrabble Club Monthly Retreat (The Maiden Edition)

June Edition of the Ekowe Scrabble Club Monthly Scrabble Retreat Ekowe Scrabble Club kickstarts her maiden edition of the monthly retreat with the aim to building education using scrabble as a tool. Her  First Edition was played on the 28 June 2025.    The event became an avenue for young youths of the community to prepare better for the July Edition slated for 26 Saturday 2025.  SCRABBLE CHAMPIONSHIP IN HONOUR OF LATE CASHIER BRUCE OLOTU  The Bayelsa State Scrabble Association in conjunction with the  Yenagoa Scrabble Club and the Peremabiri Scrabble Club present this Scrabble Championship in Honour of Late Cashier Bruce Olotu as part of his burial arrangements for his pioneering role in bringing Scrabble to Peremabiri which has in turn contributed to the development of Scrabble in Bayelsa State and Nigeria.  Rivers State Based players are eligible to player in Category A Date: Sunday 2nd March, 2025 Venue: Golden Tulip Hotel and Resort, through Government House, Onopa Gate, Yenagoa. Female Nigerian Scrabble Players Win Gold in the 13th African Games (Accra 2023)

The 13th All African Games 2023 was hosted in Accra Ghane from March 18th to 22nd.The competition was rescheduled to 2024 due to one or two. Albeit, in the competition, the Nigerian females soared in flying colors as they mopped 2 golds🥇🥇 for their country. Though, this time, the undefeated Nigerian male scrabble players did not win a medal which was unusual but they were honored by their ladies with golden hands. David Eldar Analyzes his Games After the WSC Finals

In the history of scrabble, there are only two individuals who have won the World Championship more than once. It is noted that scrabble is a mind game which needs a lot of commitment, focus, and hard work if one must be outstanding. David Eldar Wins the World Scrabble Championship

The 2023 World Scrabble Championship just concluded in an intriguing way that put a better smile on the face of the player that lost in the 2023 North American Scrabble Championship to a Delta of Nigerian player. Now the WSC outcome tells a different story.  Congratulations to David Eldar who lost to Wellington Jighere in the US National, but now the winner of the World Championship 🏆
