The 13th All African Games 2023 was hosted in Accra Ghane from March 18th to 22nd.The competition was rescheduled to 2024 due to one or two. Albeit, in the competition, the Nigerian females soared in flying colors as they mopped 2 golds🥇🥇 for their country. Though, this time, the undefeated Nigerian male scrabble players did not win a medal which was unusual but they were honored by their ladies with golden hands. In the history of scrabble, there are only two individuals who have won the World Championship more than once. It is noted that scrabble is a mind game which needs a lot of commitment, focus, and hard work if one must be outstanding. The 2023 World Scrabble Championship just concluded in an intriguing way that put a better smile on the face of the player that lost in the 2023 North American Scrabble Championship to a Delta of Nigerian player. Now the WSC outcome tells a different story.  Congratulations to David Eldar who lost to Wellington Jighere in the US National, but now the winner of the World Championship 🏆

 The World Scrabble Championship has ended yesterday and the excitement is still fresh. Leaving your work to be involved in the game is something cumbersome to many people.  The World English Language Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) kickstarted the World Scrabble Championship in Las Vega, Nevada this Saturday 22nd which will end Wednesday 26th comprise of 31 countries.  Team Nigeria has over 10 players in the WSC top 50 players after round 8    

 The World Scrabble Championship is ongoing in Las Vegas Nevada as team Nigeria is set to retain the best scrabble playing nation in the world. USA team is one major opponent to the Nigerian team as it stands, Australia, and Thailand are also another contenders viewers should watch out for, but let's proceed to the point of view.  Here in this update, we shall be bringing you with Enoch Nwali's updates on the WSC.  Total number of games to be played are 32. It is no news that Scrabble is one major mind game sport that is enjoyed by millions across the globe.  The World Scrabble Championship is live today at Las Vegas Nevada. 

Team Nigeria in their numbers stormed Las Vegas Nevada for the World Scrabble Championship - WSC to reclaim their title The Best Scrabble Playing Nation. The North American Scrabble Association honored the one time World Champ.  While waiting for the major tournament some of the Nigerian players already present at the venue registered and played the 2023 North American Scrabble Championship. Twas a competition consisting of 46 players and over 10 Nigerians partook. Earlier on, I posted on how 3 of them got in to  Top 10 after round 18   The more exciting feeling is that at the end of round 28, five of them place top 10. Wellington Jighere in 1st, Omosefe Prince in 4th, Oduwole Olatunde in 5th, Oloro Opeyemi in 9th, and Eta Karo in 10th positions.

  The WESPA rated Las Vegas, Nevada World Scrabble Championship that is ongoing features 28 games where some of the top Nigerian players lead and sit top 10 standings after 18 games of 28. Here is the standings that feature 46 players all over the world.

When the 3rd Gov. Douye Diri National Scrabble Championship was ongoing at the Bayelsa State Banquet Hall in Yenagoa this July before the Las Vegas World Championship, I met with Enoch Nwali after he loss to Emmanuel Ofidi in round 14 of 15, I told him to win the last round just to make me happy. little did I know he took that as a priority to achieve it. To me, I just felt he was a little bit low in motivation so had to say something nice to him. Eventually, he came to my table and gave me a like👍symbol from a distance and that was when I realize that he had won the tournament.   The game of scrabble is one that helps you to have critical thinking skill and enhances your brain. I ponder on the game of scrabble a lot when I sit outs at where people play it. Taken in Ghana Some people would be like: Scrabble is a game of love and happinesses; it helps one to think very fast; it's high level game for smart people; it's a game you develop self control... Scrabble has taken new dimension in the South South of Nigeria. Many world class players like Jighere(World Champ 2015), Dennis, Umujose, Ben Quickpen, Nsikak, Karo, and more have taken different bouts amongst themselves.  This time it was the lion 🦁 Ben Quickpen(current world NO:10) Vs the tiger 🐯 a National gold medalist Igali Precious.  The bout was a best of 15 games.  Ben Quickpen  At the end of the 14th round, Ben won by 8 to 6.  We are hoping there be a rematch as the viewers were intrigued by their performance.

The word war II between Olatunde Oduwole 1644 and Wellington Jighere 1607 was held at the Capo Arena in Lagos, 5th September 2021. It was really intriguing as they fed us with loads of top notch scrabble words.   wellington Jighere introduces scrabbleverse to Nigerian. The scrabbleverse is all about creating avenue for a competitive scrabble and how futuristic it is in the game of scrabble. 

 Chris Lipe wrote on Facebook: "An announcement from WESPA on the updated word list: The new edition of Collins Scrabble Words (CSW21) will be effective for tournament play starting January 1, 2022. Any WESPA-organized events, in person or online, after that date will use the updated list. A CSW21 Initiation Kit is being prepared for distribution soon to assist players in the transition. All application developers who have licensed the Collins Scrabble Words list for use in their apps, websites, and tools have been contacted with the new list, and should complete updates before this date. Publication of a paper edition will follow at a later date.  National associations should prepare implementation of the list for local events as soon as practicable after this date."  This is part of the usuals in the scrabble community to enable players know what is coming in order for them to also prepare their mind ahead of what is coming. 

The Nigeria Scrabble Veterans jolly together in their usual way as Hon. Famous Daunemighan hosts them to celebrate with him on his birthday at Yenagoa in his residence. Project Nigerian Scrabble Federation Training For TDs, Adjudicators & Coaching comes up this Friday 30th July 2021 at Abuja National Stadium. The use this medium to encourage the youths to participate in this workshop as it helps build professional tournament directors, Adjudicators, and prospective Coaches on scrabble matters.  Below is a guideline of the entire bulletin:  There shall also be a National Retreat after the workshop which will commence on the 31st. The Bayelsa State Scrabble Association pays a condolence visit to Hon. Gesiye Isowo, a patron of the scrabnle, on the earth call of his mother who also is a fan.  The vice chairman of the association Barr.
