Nigeria’s Youth Scrabble Stars Shine Bright at AYSC 2025
Team Nigeria once again stamped its dominance at the African Youth Scrabble Championship (AYSC) 2025, held in Nairobi, Kenya from August 14–17.

The championship, which featured talented youth players across the continent, produced memorable performances in both the Under-15 and Under-19 categories.
Under-15 Category
Nigeria’s Sophia Ekeruche emerged as the standout star, going unbeaten with 18 wins out of 18 games and an impressive +3,871 cumulative spread. Her flawless run ensured Nigeria claimed the U-15 individual title.

On the team front, Nigeria secured the gold, finishing ahead of hosts Kenya and rivals Ghana.
Under-19 Category
In the U-19 division, the spotlight belonged to Prestige Archibong, who clinched the individual crown after edging compatriot Abdulqudus Aliu. Both finished with 18 wins, but Archibong’s superior cumulative spread of +2,794 gave him the decisive edge.
Nigeria also topped the U-19 team standings, with Ghana and Kenya taking the silver and bronze positions respectively.

Nigeria’s Legacy Continues
