WYSC 2026: Nigeria’s Olamide Hassan Breaks into Top 10 After Round 24

 The World Youth Scrabble Championship (WYSC) 2026 in Kenya has reached Round 24, with Australia’s Fernando Dineth and Great Britain’s Crispin Samuel leading the standings on 18 wins apiece. 

Hassan Olamide won 3rd Best U-16 and placed 10th on over all Standings


Nigeria continues to make a strong impression, with Olamide Hassan sitting 10th on 16–8, while Sophia Ekeruche is 12th on 15½–8½. Khalid Olosun is also inside the top 25 at 21st with a 15–9 record.

The championship remains tightly contested at the top, with three players tied on 18–6. Nigeria’s Hassan is the standout national performer in the latest table, breaking into the global top 10, while Ekeruche retains her best female player.
