Over the years, Scrabble in Nigeria has evolved from a simple pastime into a celebrated sport that commands respect both nationally and internationally. This remarkable transformation did not happen overnight, it is the product of years of vision, dedication, and relentless effort from passionate individuals who have worked tirelessly to elevate the game we all love.

A special tribute goes to Engr. Toke Aka, the immediate past President of the Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF). His tenure was defined by outstanding leadership, strategic foresight, and a lasting influence on the global Scrabble stage. Engr. Aka’s commitment to excellence and his vision for the growth of Scrabble both in Nigeria and beyond remain deeply impactful. Without a doubt, he stands among the most influential Scrabble figures worldwide in the past decade, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

As we welcome the newly inaugurated NSF board, we are fully aware of the great responsibility that lies ahead. The bar has been set high and our mission is not just to sustain the proud legacy before us, but to build upon it: expanding the reach of Scrabble across every region, empowering young talents, strengthening our administrative structures, and elevating Nigeria’s presence on the world stage.

The Miracle Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok has been confirmed as the official venue for the Causeway Challenge 2026, taking place from 29th May to 1st June 2026 according to Michael Tang This year’s event promises to be bigger than ever with 500 players competing across 5 Divisions in an open tournament format.
